65,000 bulbs ready to shine at family fun event
MUSICAL tributes to Taylor Swift and the Spice Girls are among the attractions of the Newcastle lights switch-on tomorrow.
The town centre Christmas celebrations - Light Up Castle - starts at noon with live music, an artisan market and craft sessions.
The official lights switch-on will take place at 6pm.
More than 65,000 have been installed across 650 metres.
The event is being organised by Newcastle-under-Lyme BID, alongside 6 Towns Radio and Valcato Entertainment.
BID manager Charlotte Pearce said: “Light Up Castle is one of the biggest events in our town calendar and such a fun way to kick start the festive season.
“It’s a big, brilliant day and evening where the whole town comes together to celebrate.”
