The Sentinel
|May 27, 2025
LEEK seconds maintained their place at the top of NSSCL Division Three with a comfortable home win against Bagnall Norton 2nd XI.
It's now four wins out of five for Leek, with their bowlers delivering the goods to set up their latest success.
Three wickets apiece for Adam Rutterford (3-10) and Brad Grindey (3-17) - allied to a couple of scalps for Matt Bowcock - saw Bagnall Norton dismissed for 93.
Archie Gilbert top-scored for the visitors with 28, while Alex Dodd chipped in with 18.
Leek had few concerns in knocking off the runs as they wrapped up a seven-wicket triumph on the back of Joshua Woodcock’s 26 not out and Lewis Plant’s 25.
Barlaston 2nd XI are leading the chase after they won by the same margin at home against Hanford.
Visitors Hanford made their way to 140 all out in the formative stages of the weekend encounter.
