Leaders remain out on top after easing to 77 win run

Barlaston were put in and rattled up 206 before being bowled out in the final over.

Rory Jones top scored with 43 and there were other notable scores of 40 and 37 coming from Fida Hussain and Joe Beeston respectively.

Pick of the bowlers was Dan Amos who took 4-43.

Checkley made a steady start but then lost eight wickets for 48 runs with Matt Myers taking 4-37 as they were eventually bowled out for 129.

Amos continued his good day with 26 not out.

Checkley 2nds had a double header as on Sunday they leapfrogged Moddershall & Oulton 2nds at the bottom of the league by defeating them by six wickets. Moddershall were put in and were in trouble at 22-4 before limping to 137 all out, Alfie Womble top scoring with 36.

Peter Appleboam took 3-35 and CP Klijnhanf 3-37.

Checkley raced out of the blocks as Alex Bennett (58) and Jamie Richards (45) took them to 122-1 before they won it with 140-4.
