IN the Northern Premier League's top division, Leek Town suffered late heartbreak as they conceded an added time goal to lose 1-0 at home to league leaders Lancaster City.

The Blues went close early on when a chip from Alex Hurst led to Ollie Shenton having a header saved by Brad Kelly. Lancaster hit back with a Bobby Bjork shot being saved by Dino Visser.

After the break a Lucas Weir free kick was well saved by Kelly, but just as it looked as though the game would finish goalless, Lancaster snatched a 91st minute winner.

A long throw from the left was flicked on and Joe Amison slammed the ball into the net to inflict a fourth successive league defeat on Leek.

In the West Division, Stafford Rangers won the local derby 1-0 at Kidsgrove Athletic.

Josh Thorpe had an early header for Grove saved by Arron Davies, but Rangers went close when a Scott Wara header was saved by Aaron Woolrich. Davies also made another good save from Thorpe just before the interval.

Jack Birch went close to giving the Boro a 72nd minute lead when he struck a 20 yard shot that was tipped over by Woolrich.

Eight minutes later though, the visitors did score what proved to be the winner. Joe Thomas worked his way into the area before laying the ball off for Kaiman Anderson to stroke it home.

Newcastle Town picked up another point with a 0-0 draw at home against Wythenshawe Town.

Wealth Dasilva had the first effort of note for Wythenshawe, but he was denied by Joe Slinn. Castle had an effort cleared off the line despite appeals for handball, and Joel Jones lobbed an effort from 30 yards just wide of the goal.

Newcastle's Cameron Dourish had a shot saved by Luke Hewitson and they had two more efforts hacked off the line.

Wythenshawe had a goal disallowed for offside, but Newcastle almost won it when Stoke City loanee Jensen Tortoishell fired over.

Congleton Town suffered their third defeat in succession as they were beaten 2-0 at home by league leaders Avro.
