JUNIOR TCHAMADEU'S INJURY AT AFCON HAS THROWN A SPANNER INTO STOKE'S WINTER TRANSFER PLANS
-
JUNIOR Tchamadeu will be out "for a while" after having his injured knee assessed back at Stoke City.
The right-back had been scheduled to return to the Stoke squad for today's home match against Queens Park Rangers (3pm) but instead he is in the treatment room after being stretchered out of Cameroon's Africa Cup of Nations game against Moгоссо.
He flew home last Saturday and has been at Clayton Wood to work with the club's medical team.
Mark Robins was coy on any timeline but it is a blow for a manager who has already lost keeper Viktor Johansson (shoulder) and striker Robert Bozenik (shoulder) to injury over the last couple of weeks.
"Junior will be out for a while. It's going to be a while," said Robins.
"Injuries to players, whoever they are, it's always a blow because we've only got a finite amount of players and a finite amount of work we can do in the window.
