John urges Vale to remain upbeat after late setback...

PORT Vale's Kyle John admits they need to stay positive after suffering a last-minute defeat to Leyton Orient at the weekend.

Speaking openly and honestly after the game after a bitter blow in the dying seconds cost them again, John was philosophical about there being plenty of time to put it right and being well aware of what went wrong and how they can fix it.

He told the club: “We played some good stuff, just killed ourselves again. We've got to be ruthless at the top end but you've also got to be secure at the back and just see the game out, take a point. You'd rather take a point than lose.

“It's a killer. Everyone is just gutted. You've got to be secure at the back, if you can’t win don’t lose but I think with us not winning yet and playing some good stuff out there and we were on top, I think you're just dying to get that first three points.
