DJ relives ordeal after having stroke aged 48

'It was pure gobbledygook coming out of my mouth' –

SUPPORT has flooded in for an independent city-based radio station owner after a 'devastating' stroke.

Dave Munden, known as DJ Dave Dizeey D, has owned and operated online station RainbowFM since 2020.

But the 48-year-old father-of-three was left struggling to keep up with its running costs after his stroke left him unable to work.

Dave, of Sneyd Green, above, said it happened on October 1 as he drove back from Liverpool following a day out with a friend. "I started struggling to hold a conversation with Mark," he said. "The words weren't working. I had a sinking feeling that something was wrong."

Dave dropped his friend off in Newcastle before heading home, where he tried to explain to his partner what had happened.

He said: "I tried to tell her that something was going wrong with me, but it was just pure gobbledygook coming out of my mouth.

"She didn't have a clue what I was trying to say. Luckily she could tell something wasn't right and rang an ambulance straight away."
