'Major focus' on city centre at national infrastructure forum

- Eva Millett

A PUBLIC sector task force is to promote North Staffordshire to 16,000 investors in a bid to attract new well-paid jobs to the region.

Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire will take centre stage at a national investor event as leaders look to sign up new business and funding.

A public sector delegation will attend the UK’s Real Estate Investment and Infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF) in Leeds in May where more than 16,000 investors, developers and decision-makers are expected.

The three-day event brings together councils, Government, funders, housebuilders and infrastructure specialists.

The city and county councils, together with the seven district and borough councils, will attend under the We Are Staffordshire banner, the area's place marketing organisation.

The delegation will promote investment and development opportunities in the county and city, including regeneration projects in town and city centres.
