Traders hit out at more council plans for a red route
TRADERS have slammed council plans to fine drivers for pulling up outside their shops.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council wants to turn part of Christchurch Street, in Fenton - between City Road and Baker Street - into its latest red route. It means any driver caught pulling over on the double-red lines will be fined £70.
Allan Jones, aged 55, of Allan Jones Traditional Family Butchers, said: "I might as well shut. I put in my objections. They are saying it's due to congestion. I do not understand where the congestion is. It is not that busy a road.
