GRIEVING Scott Myatt drove a stolen car dangerously as he tried to evade arrest.
The 34-year-old drove at more than 70mph in 30mph residential streets, went the wrong way around a roundabout, drove through a red light, nearly collided with another vehicle and two pedestrians crossing a road, and rammed a police car twice before running off.
But he was soon captured and detained. Now Myatt has been jailed for 18 months at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.
He was driving a grey Mitsubishi Outlander when the pursuit happened at 3.30pm on January 22.
Prosecutor Emma Swindell said: “The police national computer confirmed it was running on cloned plates. It was a stolen vehicle.
