Great results for BTEC students
SUCCESSFUL BTEC students from North Staffordshire are looking forward to attending their home university after a string of impressive results.
Youngsters from Newcastle College were joined by Professor Lawrence Bellamy, executive dean at University of Staffordshire, as they collected their grades.
Many are going on to study at the local institution on a diverse range of courses including forensic science, paramedic science, photography, games art and illustration.
Demi-Louise Williams achieved a triple distinction in her travel and tourism BTEC at Newcastle College.
The 18-year-old is now planning to study forensic investigation at the University of Staffordshire.
Demi-Louise, from Longton, said: "I went to an open day at Staffs and a staff member took me round to see the custody suite, crime scene areas and the Hazmat suits.
"They didn't have to do that - it was just for me. From then on, Staffs was where I wanted to go.
