Green light for controversial lodges plan at former quarry

FINAL proposals for a controversial holiday park have been approved - after 14 years of planning.

Planning committee members at Staffordshire Moorlands District Council have voted to grant permission to the second phase of Moneystone Park, consisting of 60 lodges, an archery building and a watersports centre.
The redevelopment of Moneystone Quarry, at Oakamoor, is expected to create 250 jobs and boost tourism in the area, but the scheme has been very controversial.
