ANDRE Gray reckons relegation battles and promotion drives feel exactly the same.
The 34-year-old striker made his first start for Vale in the 4-0 home defeat to Stockport County in the Vertu Trophy.
The forward played for Burnley and Watford in the Premier League at the peak of his career having remarkably played for Luton Town when they were a National League club prior to their rise to the top division and subsequent slide to League One.
He touched on the predicament Vale find themselves in at the bottom of League One in the press conference ahead of today's scheduled FA Cup tie with Bristol City which was postponed yesterday afternoon.
He said: “Fighting relegation is the same as fighting to get promotion. There is always a pressure every game. But I have been relegated before and promoted before. It’s always been about trying to stay level.
