FIRESFIGHTERS at Staffordshire Fire and Rescue have raised more than £50,000 - thanks to 12 months of car washes, open days, and fitness challenges.
The money has been raised for the Fire Fighters Charity, which provides timely clinical care and wellbeing support to members of the UK's fire services and their families.
As part of its anniversary celebrations that started in April 2024, the service pledged to raise £50,000 before April 1, 2025.
It has now collected a whopping total of £54,280 thanks to a series of activities such as car washes, open days, a cabaret, bake sales and fitness challenges among others.
Chief Fire Officer, Rob Barber, below, said: “It’s been amazing to see the whole service come together for an incredible year of fundraising and I'm very proud of what we have achieved together.
“Teamwork is a fundamental part of Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and we have demonstrated what can be done when we come together.
