The 27-year-old kept contacting his ex
DAD Jake Hamnett breached a restraining order by making contact with his ex-partner.
The 27-year-old was banned from contacting his ex after he was handed a suspended sentence.
But seven months later, in December 2023, he began contacting her. And he contacted her 14 times between December 14, 2023 and October 2024. And on June 1, 2025 he reacted to a Facebook post she made and asked if he could go to her and see their child. Now Hamnett has been jailed for 16 months at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.
Prosecutor Jillian Newton said the defendant was convicted in May 2023 of putting a person in fear of violence by harassment, having an article with a blade or point and having an offensive weapon. He was also made the subject of a five-year restraining order which stopped him having any contact with a woman and her family.
