PERVERT Ashley Vicarey has been spared jail after he was caught with hundreds of sickening child abuse images.

- Sentinel Reporter

The 41-year-old, who has a previous conviction for similar offending when he was aged 17 in 2003, viewed 1,031 indecent images of children between November 7, 2023 and January 9, 2024.

Some of the youngsters being sexually abused were as young as three. Now Vicarey, of Cheddar Drive, Silverdale, has been sentenced to 15 months in prison, suspended for two years, at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.

Prosecutor Matthew Ness said police turned up at an address in Waine Street, Crewe, on January 15, 2024 as they were acting on intelligence that a device had accessed unlawful material.

Mr Ness said: "A number of devices were seized including a mobile phone, a laptop and a memory stick. Police attended another address on Cheddar Drive, Silverdale, and seized a Samsung tablet and a mobile phone.
