Byers determined to hit the heights as Valiants look to embrace the feel-good factor

WHILE reaching the Championship is a personal goal of George Byers he stressed that this coming season for Port Vale is “about us establishing ourselves again.”

The 29-year-old midfielder holds no fear in playing in League One and says there are is a lot of ambition to reach the higher level, although achieving that in the coming campaign is nothing more than a long shot.

Vice captain Byers, said: “It's about establishing ourselves again but I'm an ambitious player and there are lot of ambitious people at the club who want to push the club as high as possible and get this club in a higher league.

“We have all got to be ambitious and try to do the best we can to achieve things we want.”
