27 were broken into in ‘strategic’ theft
'PROFESSIONAL JOB': Allotment holders at Audley Community Allotments have had their sheds and outbuildings broken into, with high value power tools being stolen.
GARDENERS are appealing for information after valuable equipment was taken from their allotments.
The thief struck during the night between October 16 and October 17.
Sarah Williams, chair of the Audley Allotment Association, alerted police after a plot-holder noticed all of the shed doors had been forced open.
The 51-year-old said: “After it went dark, a thief decided to snip off the bolts to all three of our entry points.
“They've then gone very cleverly from shed to shed, assessing what's in them, before taking any machinery of any worth. Then they've loaded it all up and disappeared off somewhere.
