Donation to go on display at Ford Green Hall
A PAINTING by the celebrated artist, playwright and poet Arthur Berry has been donated to a museum in his birthplace of Smallthorne.
Old Man Seated (Black and White), from 1984, has gone on display in the tearoom at Ford Green Hall Museum.
It has been given by the late artist's estate, via Barewall Art Gallery, as part of the Arthur Berry 100 centenary celebrations to mark his birth. The work is on mixed media and measures 39cm x 52cm.
The donation has prompted the museum to join ART UK, a national virtual art collection.
A series of walks in Berry’s honour are also set to take place.
