DEFENDING Premier Division champions Ball Haye Green were edged out 2-1 at home by Ashbourne.

Ball Haye Green took a sixth-minute lead through Rob Pearson, but goals from Lee Cranstone and Jacob Edge-Lucas ensured the points went back to Derbyshire.

Brereton Social remain two points clear at the summit, despite being held to a 0-0 draw by AFC Crewe.

Second-placed Rocester closed the gap with a 3-1 victory over Newcastle Town.

Striker Jordan Dodd opened the scoring for the Romans shortly after the half-hour with a second arriving courtesy of the inform Jake Walklett five three minutes before the interval.

Although Castle scored in reply, an 84th-minute strike from Euan Harris made sure of the three points.

A 44th-minute Ben Wakefield goal for Redgate Clayton was enough to seal the points and see them go level on points with Rocester after a victory over AFC Alsager at Northwood Lane.

Silverdale Athletic ran out 8-1 winners at Cannock Dynamos.

The inform Macauley Davies scored a first-half hat-trick all this after striker Alex Djukic had fired home a brace in the opening three minutes.

Second-half goals from Aaron Johns, Harry Griffiths and Jordan Hewitt rounded off a fine afternoon.

Madeley White Star travelled to the Bradwell Community Centre to take on Wolstanton and returned home empty-handed after narrowly going down 2-1.

Wolstanton's Jake Till opened the scoring in the eighth minute, but that advantage was cancelled out when Charlie Batho equalised on 27 minutes.

Skipper Jeff Bailey then got on the scoresheet when he regained the lead for the hosts a minute before halftime.

Milton United drew 4-4 at home with Audley.

Audley raced into a four-goal first-half lead after Josh Wilson scored on eight minutes with Marcus Thorpe adding a second just two minutes later.

Cole Mohindra made it three before the half-hour with the fourth coming on the stroke of halftime from Liam Curley.

Milton sprung into life with Jack Wright scoring three minutes after the restart.
