Arsenal cup tie isn't just a night out for Vale - Garrity

Port Vale midfielder Ben Garrity is relishing the prospect of playing Arsenal.

The 28-year-old midfielder is relishing tomorrow night's Carabao Cup third round tie against The Gunners at a packed Vale Park.

And despite being up against one of the best clubs in Europe, Arsenal are likely to make a host of changes from the team which drew 1-1 with Manchester City on Sunday in the Premier League and Garrity says he sees no reason why Darren Moore's side can't emulate Grimsby Town, who knocked out Manchester United in the second round.

"To go toe to toe with one of the best teams in Europe will be interesting," Garrity told Port Vale TV.

"We are not there to make up numbers, we will give it our best shot. It's 11 versus 11. They are top players and we're good players as well. You see Grimsby, they done [beat] United and I don't see why we can't go and do the exact same thing they did. It's just about us making sure we are on it.

"You can't have an off day against them as you will get punished. At our level we get punished but this is a whole different level of opponent if you are not on it."
