Odisha farmers urged to enroll in new digital registry to unlock benefits

IN a significant step towards digitally empowering the farming community, the Odisha Government, in collaboration with the Union Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, has launched the Farmer Registry — a unified digital platform designed to streamline the delivery of agricultural benefits and services.

This secure system will assign a unique Farmer ID to each individual, linking their Aadhaar number, mobile details, and verified land records into a single digital identity.

The purpose of this registry is to create a single, reliable source of information about farmers and their land holdings, thereby eliminating the need for repeated data collection for each government scheme. It will enable faster and more transparent access to welfare programs while supporting a paperless and contactless model of agricultural service delivery.

Enrollment in the Farmer Registry comes with multiple benefits. It will ensure quicker approval of Kisan Credit Card (KCC) loans and make farmers eligible for Minimum Support Price (MSP) procurement.
