Odisha Chief Secretary reviews development work in Nagada, calls for timely completion of key projects

“DEVELOPMENT must reach the last mile, and delays are unacceptable,” said Odisha Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja during his visit to Nagada village in Sukinda block of Jajpur district on Monday.

Braving intense summer heat, Ahuja conducted an extensive review of ongoing welfare and infrastructure projects, assessing both achievements and shortcomings in implementation.

Accompanied by Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department Secretary Girish SN, Director Vinit Bhardwaj, and District Collector P Anwesha Reddy, the Chief Secretary interacted directly with residents, going door to door to understand their challenges and needs.

Ahuja inspected several under-construction houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, drinking water supply systems, and services under Public Health and Women & Child Development departments. At the Upper Nagada Anganwadi Centre, he reviewed ground conditions and expressed concern over sluggish progress in housing construction, noting that many homes were only 60 percent complete. He directed Zilla Parishad CEO Ashok Kumar Behuria and BDO Pradeep Kumar Sethi to ensure expeditious completion.
