Odisha Cabinet greenlights ₹1000 Cr disaster-resilient road scheme for future-proof connectivity

IN a landmark move to bolster the state's infrastructure against the wrath of natural disasters, the Odisha Cabinet on Wednesday approved the “Mukhya Mantri Sadak Yojana-Disaster Resilient Roads” scheme, a Rs 1000 crore initiative set to transform road connectivity in vulnerable areas.
The comprehensive scheme, with a five-year implementation timeline spanning from 2025 to 2030, aims to construct approximately 500 kilometres of roads engineered to withstand floods, cyclones, and other calamities.
