Jio 5G FWA redefines high-speed broadband access in rural landscapes

HIGH-SPEED internet is no longer a privilege confined to urban India, thanks to the rapid expansion of Jio's 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) service — JioAirFiber — which is transforming the digital landscape in rural regions across the country.
According to the latest telecom subscription data released by TRAI, JioAirFiber accounts for all of India’s 25 lakh+ rural 5G FWA subscribers as of March 2025. Remarkably, 44 per cent of Jio’s total 5G FWA subscribers are from rural areas, showcasing the company’s unique rural-urban reach, unmatched by competitors still focused mainly on metro markets.
