Cooperatives are pillars of nation-building, says Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati

"COOPERATIVE societies have emerged as powerful instruments of social and economic transformation in India," said Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, underscoring their pivotal role in nation-building.
He was speaking at the celebration of the International Year of Cooperatives 2025, held at the Raj Bhavan on Friday.
The event, organised by the Cooperation Department, Government of Odisha, brought together leading stakeholders of the cooperative movement to mark the United Nations' proclamation of 2025 as the International Year of Cooperatives under the theme "Cooperatives Build a Better World."
"It is indeed an honour to be part of this significant occasion. Cooperatives have shaped the economic, social, and cultural fabric of India and Odisha," the Governor said, stressing the importance of cooperative institutions in achieving inclusive growth.
