The gift of time

What does everyone have in equal portions, whether young or old, rich or poor, male or female?

It is time.We all have 24 hours, no more, no less. And what we do with it makes us all unique and different from each other.

As we approach Christmas which is the time for gift-giving, what is the best gift we can give or receive? Again, it is the most precious asset we have - time.

When people say they do not have time, they actually mean: I have better things to do. Because time is finite, the choice of how we spend it shows our priorities in life. You can choose to waste time, like doing nothing. You can also choose to do so much that you run out of time. But what we do is our privilege and right — we can do what we want with our time.

More than presents, however, giving time to a relative who is ill, lonely or alone is more precious. In lieu of material things or presents, why don’t you sit down and think who you would like to make time for? Especially for our aging parents or long lost relatives, the gift of time is what everyone wishes to receive. Think about doing something different this season and give a part of yourself.

Or it can be cute, as spending time to do tasks for a partner or loved one.
