Splashing collor flowing stories

It requires artists to be deliberate in their approach, from initial sketches to color choices.

Gallery Genesis champions this challenging medium. Since 1983, they have celebrated Filipino watercolor artists through the Kulay sa Tubig competition.

On September 20, 2025, Gallery Genesis hosted the 37th Kulay sa Tubig National Watercolor Competition Grand Awards Night.

"Kulay sa Tubig is more than just a competition; it is a celebration of Filipino watercolor artists, showcasing their craftsmanship, authenticity, and soul," said Gallery Genesis President Patrice Salas in her welcome address.

WINNING WITH FLYING COLORS

This year, 99 entries were shortlisted, featuring both emerging artists and industry veterans. These works underwent a rigorous judging process, resulting in the selection of ten winners-five runners-up and five overall winners, recognized as the top five watercolorists.

  • The runners-up of the 37th Kulay sa Tubig Watercolor Competition are:

  • Tranquility by Joy Fernando

  • Ari na mga Alaga ni Nong
