Smart Pushes for Nat'l AI Literacy Program

Wireless leader Smart Communications Inc. is advocating for a national literacy drive on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to make Filipinos understand the pros and cons of the technology.

At the Philippine AWS Cloud Day, Smart chief operating officer Anastacio Martirez pushed for the launch of an AI literacy campaign that would bridge the knowledge gap on automation.

Martirez believes that AI can be maximized by everyone if they only know how to use it, as the technology can be used to create content, process transactions and predict trends.

"True innovation lifts everyone, but tech without skills is useless. We need a national AI literacy drive so that everyone, from business process outsourcing agents to barangay health workers, can use AI," Martirez said.
