SEC lines up reforms to boost capital market

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is lining up various reforms to make the local capital market more robust and resilient.

"A robust market must reflect the scale and dynamism of the economy it serves. We are working to deepen participation and modernize infrastructure through reforms," SEC chairperson Francis Lim said.

Among these reforms are the revised shelf registration framework for issuers to provide flexibility and speed and the expansion of the repo market to include trust entities, mutual funds and insurers.
