San Miguel Beer is embarking on its title retention bid in the PBA Season 49 Commissioner's Cup with new pieces.

With Boatwright still recovering from surgery for Achilles injury, SMB tapped the 6-foot-10 Miller, who's already been reinforcing the team in the East Asia Super League.

Miller fired 32 points, six rebounds and two assists in their 85-101 loss to Taiwanese club Taoyuan Pauian Pilots last Nov. 13, bouncing back from his disappointing 8-5-3 showing in a previous 81-87 setback to Korea's Suwon KT 11 days earlier.
