Rainy Luzon seen due to shear line, amihan

The shear line will continue to bring rains in the country, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.

PAGASA weather specialist Grace Castañeda said the shear line brought heavy to intense rains in Quezon yesterday, adding that moderate to heavy rains were experienced in Isabela, Aurora, Laguna, Oriental Mindoro, Palawan, Marinduque, portions of Romblon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur and Catanduanes.

“Throughout this day (Monday), the number of areas affected in Southern Luzon will be lessened, but the areas in east Luzon continue to experience heavy rains,” Castañeda said.

According to PAGASA, a shear line is the convergence of cold and warm winds, which triggers rains.
