PNP orders probe vs cops in rape-robbery case
The Philippine Star
|November 25, 2025
Following the complaint of a Grade 9 student that she was raped and robbed by police officers over the weekend in Bacoor City, Philippine National Police acting chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez ordered a probe on the incident, saying the PNP has zero tolerance for misconduct.
The head of the Police Drug Enforcement Group or PDEG-Special Operations Unit in Calabarzon was also relieved from his post under the principle of command responsibility.
“The PNP does not condone and tolerate this kind of behavior within its ranks. Those who would defy our operational procedure and would act as criminal elements should be treated as such,” Nartatez said in a statement yesterday.
Rafael Calinisan, National Police Commission vice commissioner, said the Napolcom deployed a separate four-man investigation team to look into the incident.
“People are asking for accountability. The PNP’s reputation is being damaged, and we must hold those responsible to account,” Calinisan said over dzBB.
