Pinoy animated shorts to be screened for free

A collection of Filipino animated shorts will be shown for free on Dec. 13 at the Atrium @ Benilde.

The screening is part of MCADxMoving Image, a program of the Museum of Contemporary Art and Design (MCAD) of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB). It views culture, society and politics through the media of the moving image — from hybrid documentaries and video essays to narrative experiments, filmed performances and archival audiovisions.
The selection is curated by comics writer and illustrator Melvin Sumangil Calingo. More popularly known by his pen name “Taga-ilog,” he is one of the four core artists behind the early 2000s magazine Culture Crash Comics. He wrote and drew PASIG, a post-apocalyptic action-drama in the said publication.
