PhilHealth to Investigate Fraud in Its Outpatient Program

The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) has formed a team that will investigate groups or personalities using its Guaranteed and Accessible Medications for Outpatient Treatment (GAMOT) program in fraudulent activities.
Rey Baleña, acting vice president for corporate affairs group, said the Special Anti-Fraud Unit is tasked to monitor and make people using GAMOT in their illegal transactions liable.
"Our president and CEO Dr. Edwin Mercado has established a special unit that will act on urgent fraud concerns in relation to GAMOT and other of PhilHealth's benefits package," Baleña said.
