PH Businesses Must Proactively Redeploy Talent as Agentic AI Reshapes Workforce
The Philippine Star
|September 07, 2025
The rise of agentic AI—systems capable of independent action and complex problem-solving—is rapidly changing the world of work.
This transformation is unlocking new levels of productivity for Philippine businesses and offers a strategic opportunity for them to proactively redeploy a significant portion of the workforce into new roles.
The adoption of agentic AI is expected to skyrocket by 327 percent by 2027, jumping from 15 percent today to 64 percent in just two years, according to a study conducted by Salesforce, which surveyed 200 global human resource executives.
As we move away from a human-only workforce, we need to start rethinking how work is done and what skills are valued. The focus is moving from task execution to working alongside—and supervising—AI agents. HR leaders now have the task of redesigning workflows, creating new training programs, and setting up frameworks for human-AI collaboration. Every employee will need to develop a mix of human judgment and creativity, AI and business skills to succeed in this digital labor revolution.
