PCC, NTC ink deal to promote competition in data transmission

The Philippine Competition Commission (PCC) has teamed up with the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) to strengthen competition in the data transmission industry.
In a statement, the PCC said it signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the NTC to formalize their partnership in promoting fair competition and regulatory coordination in the data transmission industry.
Signed by PCC chairperson Michael Aguinaldo and NTC Commissioner Ella Blanca Lopez, the MOA is in line with Section 18 of Republic Act 12234 or the Konektadong Pinoy Act.
Under the law, the agencies are mandated to develop interagency cooperation mechanisms to ensure effective enforcement and to uphold the principles of fair competition in the data transmission industry.
