Palace belies claims of scripted impeach case

President Marcos is not bothered by the impeachment complaint filed against him and is confident it will not prosper because "he did nothing wrong," Malacañang said yesterday.

Presidential Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro denied allegations that the impeachment complaint was a "scripted distraction," as critics have claimed.

Castro said she was able to talk with the President about the impeachment case and was told he was unperturbed.

"Yes, I asked him personally, he said he is not bothered because he knows that he did not commit any impeachable offense that would make him accountable," Castro told reporters in Filipino at a press briefing.

Castro said the President believes that all his actions are in accordance with the Constitution and the laws.
