• Supreme Court rules PAGCOR, PCSO to abide by law in appropriating funds for PSC. A 1990 law mandating PAGCOR and PCSO to remit specific percentages of their income to PSC was derailed by a Malacañang order in 1993 and it took then-Cong. Yeng Guiao to file a case in 2016 to set things straight. Last year, the High Court upheld Guiao's petition and ordered PAGCOR to remit five percent of its gross earnings every month plus at least P33 billion from cumulative past obligations. Additionally, PCSO was instructed to pay 30 percent of the charity fund from six sweepstakes draws each year from 2006. The Supreme Court set 10 years for PAGCOR and PCSO to settle the arrears.
