Marcos state visit to India set next week

President Marcos will embark on a five-day state visit to India next week from Aug. 4 to Aug. 8 upon the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to a statement released by the Presidential Communications Office yesterday.
It will be Marcos' first visit to India and his 36th overseas trip since assuming the presidency in 2022.
The President and his delegation will meet with Indian officials, investors and the Filipino community.
In a separate statement, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs said Marcos is scheduled to hold bilateral discussions on Aug. 5. He will also meet with Indian External Affairs Minister Rastrapatiji Smt. Droupadi Murmu and former foreign secretary Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.
