Kristine floods MM; Classes still suspended

Torrential rains dumped by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine submerged parts of Metro Manila yesterday.
Classes at all levels in public and private schools in the National Capital Region are still suspended today due to the expected heavy rains caused by Kristine.
In Quezon City, the class suspension was made upon the recommendation of the QC Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
Classes are also suspended in all Child Development Centers in the city.
At least 592 families have sought shelter in evacuation centers in Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas and Valenzuela as heavy rains pounded Metro Manila and nearby provinces.
Malabon's disaster risk reduction and management office (DRRMO) reported floods in Barangays Hulong Duhat, Ibaba, San Agustin, Catmon, Tañong, Maysilo, Panghulo, Tonsuya and Santulan.
Over 100 families from Barangays Longos, Potrero, Tinajeros and Tañong were rescued. They are taking shelter at 10 evacuation centers.
