Kanlaon continues to spew ash - Phivolcs

Kanlaon Volcano continued to spew ash days after its eruption, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.

Phivolcs said there has been continuous degassing with occasional ash emissions. Two ash emission events were recorded since Tuesday, which lasted from 11 to 39 minutes long.

Phivolcs director Teresito Bacolcol said they are still analyzing the ash from the eruption if it can be classified as a magmatic eruption.

There were also 31 volcanic earthquakes recorded in the period. Sulfur dioxide flux was monitored at 4,121 tons per day that generated plumes of around 100 meters tall.
