GCG Orders PhilHealth Revamp

The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. will undergo a major revamp to improve PhilHealth's efficiency and address operational challenges to better serve Filipinos.
The Governance Commission for Government-Owned or Controlled Corporations (GCG) ordered the revamp of PhilHealth as part of the administration's thrust in dealing with the health insurer's outdated workforce, fragmented and conflicting data, functions and strategy execution as well as benefit claims processing.
Under the restructuring, 503 units and 7,149 positions will be introduced to improve service delivery and fulfillment of PhilHealth's expanded mandate under the Universal Health Care Act.
