FOR BINI, THE BIGGEST REWARD of being the "Nation's Girl Group" isn't found in sold-out shows, streaming numbers or record-setting milestones.
Since debuting in 2021, the P-pop octet—Jhoanna, Colet, Mikha, Gwen, Stacey, Aiah, Maloi and Sheena—realized that what matters most is the family they've built—with each other, with their fans and with the loved ones they're able to support because of their music.
"Siguro yung family na na-build namin," Maloi said when asked about the most rewarding part of being BINI. "It's really just a bonus—being able to express ourselves through music, being able to go to different places and being able to eat delicious food because of this journey.
"But it's really more about the music and even more about our relationship with each other, which I feel is already irreplaceable. Na nababaonin talaga namin siya hanggang dulo... Let's say, we're already 35, would we still be BINI at that time? 'Pag nagkaroon na kami ng mga sarili naming buhay, (we know) may babalikan pa rin kami. We are really each other's constant. That's what I'm most grateful for."
She continued, "And maybe we've also been able to help our family, to provide not just for ourselves but also for our family—like we've been able to send our siblings to school. Yun yung dream namin kasi na mai-angat talaga yung family namin sa hirap."
For Mikha, the fulfillment comes from the impact BINI music has made on listeners.
