Explosive Collabs Emerge at 'OPM Con 2025'
The Philippine Star
|July 15, 2025
From start to finish, every music act at the recent Puregold's "OPM Con 2025" was a testament to just how adept and world-class Filipino artists truly are.
It also highlighted how the Original Pilipino Music (OPM) scene has evolved over the years, especially with the rise of P-pop.
BINI, Flow G, G22, KAIA, SB19, Skusta Clee and SunKissed Lola converged for the one-night show at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan to honor the power of OPM. It was heartwarming to see how the finest OPM acts support each other as well as the legion of fans who braved the gloomy weather to express their love for their music idols.
A gig like no other, the trove of artists who performed that night represented the rich tapestry of OPM musical styles, ranging from P-pop to rap and rock. The musical experience was coupled with visually captivating stage design and lighting, and smoke effects and bursts of confetti, adding to the lively, electric vibe of the night.
After Martin Naling delivered his spoken word, P-pop girl group BINI, composed of Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna and Sheena, launched their set with an explosive performance of Karera.
Maloi reminisced about their "BINIverse World Tour 2025," which kicked off in the same venue four months ago. Coming back to the arena, fresh from their world tour, was like a "dream again" and a "nostalgic" moment for the girls.
"And tonight, we celebrate OPM," Jhoanna told the crowd. "You know what, guys? OPM also has another meaning—Original Panalo Music. Thank you, Puregold, for allowing us Filipino artists to shine, this is our time, OPM moment. So, let's make the most out of it."
A surprise appearance of James Reid on stage with BINI for Secrets and Di Bale was then followed by SB19's Stell, G22's Alfea and KAIA's Charlotte for Shagidi.
BINI's finale number was a rock version of their hit Pantropiko.
