ERC mulls reforms in power firms’ IPO
The Philippine Star
|September 29, 2025
The Energy Regulatory Commission is considering reforms to public offering requirements (POR) in the power sector to address persistently low compliance among generation firms.
ERC chairman and CEO Francis Saturnino Juan said they are set to discuss the POR guidelines to identify potential amendments that could encourage greater access to the stock market.
"If we retain the public offering requirements, we will have to issue the rules, as it is our mandate to implement Section 43(t)," Juan said, referring to the provision of the Electric Power Industry Reform Act.
