Damaged river wall causes neck-deep flooding in Navotas

Parts of Barangay San Jose in Navotas were submerged in neck-deep flooding yesterday afternoon after a river wall along Celest Street was damaged, causing water to breach during high tide. As of 5:15 p.m., a total of 30 families comprising of 121 people were evacuated to the Navotas Elementary School and San Jose barangay hall.

Irish Cubillan, Navotas public information office chief, said the river wall located within a shipyard has long been needing repairs.

"It's just that there are six families living there," Cubillan told
