BBM: Gov’t on solid ground, but complacency dangerous

While he believes his administration continues to stand on “solid ground” despite coup rumors, President Marcos admitted that he cannot be too confident as he cited the need to continue working to keep the support of various sectors.

Speaking to reporters yesterday at Malacafang, Marcos said it is “dangerous” for someone in his position to be complacent and to say that there is no need to worry and that “everybody is OK.”

“T am never confident in that sense, in the sense that I know that you have to be very careful to keep everyone as part of the administration and in support of the administration,” the President said after the oath taking of the officers of the Malacafiang Press Corps and other media groups covering the presidency.

“So when you ask me how confident I am, all I can say is that in our assessment... the administration is still very much on solid ground in terms of support from the different sectors of society. However, we work very hard to continue to earn that support from them,” he added.
