Agrilever, a pioneering agritech firm empowering smallholder rice farmers in the Philippines, has partnered with global weather intelligence leader Tomorrow.io to bring hyperlocal, Al-powered forecasting solutions to the country's agricultural sector.
-
The partnership aims to help farmers better manage climate risks and improve productivity amid increasingly variable weather conditions.
The Philippines is among the countries most vulnerable to climate change. GermanWatch’s latest Climate Risk Index ranked the Philippines as the 7th most affected country by climate-related extreme weather events over the past 30 years (1995-2024).
During the review period, the country experienced 371 extreme weather events, causing 27,500 fatalities and over $35 billion in economic losses.
In November 2025 alone, the Department of Agriculture (DA) estimated P743.8 million in agricultural damage caused by Typhoons Tino and Uwan, highlighting the urgent need for climate-resilient practices and effective forecasting tools.
As the local partner bringing Tomorrow.io’s technology to Philippine agriculture, Agrilever supported government agencies with real-time weather intelligence during recent typhoons. Through its collaboration with Agrilever, Tomorrow.io developed localized weather intelligence reports for the Department of Agriculture and the National Irrigation Administration (NIA), which were subsequently distributed to other affected government agencies.
In recent months, Tomorrow.io also monitored and generated detailed reports on other major weather disturbances, including Typhoons Nando, Opong, Paolo, Rami, Salome, Tino and Uwan.
