A year older, but years younger

Yes, it's possible to be a year older but look newer and not have to say, "Thank You, doctor." Congratulations to the New NAIA Infra Corp. which is now celebrating its first year on the job. It's been a year since the NAIA complex has been "Under New Management."

For context, let's be clear that renovating a house, a building and definitely an aviation complex is harder and more challenging than simply starting from scratch.

To begin with, the NNIC faced multiple challenges at the beginning and had to meet public, aviation and government expectations without disrupting operations and movement at the complex.

After winning the bidding, NNIC immediately became the target of vested interests and media disruptors intended to shake NNIC's victory loose. Part of that attack came in the form of questions regarding fees being charged, particularly parking fees, terminal fees, etc.

But when the critics and "operators" realized they were barking up the wrong tree and that NNIC had public support and would fight back, the critics scurried off to their corner.

All that did not distract the NNIC/SMC from addressing priority concerns such as improving and upgrading the power source of the entire NAIA complex.

Most people don't know that NAIA is connected to the same line where 3,652 residences, 395 commercial establishments such as hotels, etc. and four industrial facilities all draw electricity from.

In partnership with Meralco, an express feeder and dedicated circuit along with new power lines and UPS equipment were installed for NAIA. By 2026, the goal is for the NAIA to have its own 115 KV-34.5 KV substation.
